Because relocation isn’t just logistics, it’s about employee success.

- Boosts employee satisfaction and retention
- Enhances your employer brand
- Frees up HR teams from operational details

Happy families = successful assignments

What should companies know before relocating an employee to the US?

Before relocating talent to the U.S., HR should anticipate:
- Immigration/visa timeline (we don’t handle visas, but they affect therelocation timeline)
- Relocation budget (housing, schooling, healthcare, etc.)
- Assignment calendar (start early!)
- Family needs (spouse, kids, schools)
- Legal/tax framework (contract, entity setup, payroll, benefits)

We don’t do immigration, but we manage everything on the ground to ensure a smooth arrival

How long does a relocation take?

On average, less than one week from housing search to lease signing and full settling-in

Because we prepare everything before arrival, we can:
- Visit apartments
- Sign leases
- Open a bank account
- Apply for a Social Security Number
- Handle utilities and local registrations

The result: your assignee is up and running within days

When should I register my child for private school?

Most private schools in the U.S. open applications between October and January for the following August.
Some highly selective or bilingual schools close applications early, often by February.

We assist with school research, application strategy, and communication withthe admissions teams.

When should I register my child for public school?

Public school enrollment depends on your School District and your residential address. Most districts open enrollment in the spring for fall (August) start dates. You must have a residential lease to be eligible. No address = no enrollment.

Some required documents:
- Proof of address
- Vaccination record
- Passport
- Previous school records

We help you choose the right neighborhood and complete the process smoothly.

Will the employee have a dedicated point of contact?

Yes. At Expat US, every assignee is supported by a dedicated local consultant, who welcomes them personally and guides them step-by-step through the entire relocation process.

This person helps with:
- Housing visits and lease signing
- School search and registration
- Opening a bank account and getting the SSN
